When I was offered to review this book for a blog tour, I read the blurb and I knew that this book was going to be unique and from the first page I knew I wasn't wrong.

Porcelain Keys revolves around Aria, who is withdrawn and lost, having just lost her mother, she only has her father now. Though he isn't much of a father, with him slipping further and further into a losing battle with alcohol, she dreams of a life away from all of her troubles.

 

When Aria meets Thomas, you can see straight away that they are good for each other. Thomas is different from Aria but he helps Aria come out of her shell and slowly but surely you can see they help each other. With the loss, personal problems and start to rebuild their lives, better lives for their future.

 

As the story progresses you can understand more about both Aria and Thomas and how their story is different, yet that makes it more delightful to read. Their story is one with messages, important ones and how uniquely powerful this love story is. A great debut novel from a fresh new author with a young adult book.

 

Porcelain Keys is a story of love, loss, broken trust and dreams, how to find yourself and how sometimes music can heal even the biggest of hurt and pain. It is such a moving story, that will stay with you long after you finish it. Sarah Beard writes such a beautifully, passionate story that makes the perfect young adult novel.

 

If I had to sum this book up in three words, they would be Unique, Mesmerising and Moving.
